Since the 1950s, Preservation Hall, the intimate music venue situated in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, has presented acoustic Jazz concerts over 360 nights a year. On any given night, audiences bear joyful witness to live traditional Jazz from a collective of over 50 local masters.
From the beginning, these concerts gathered a significant amount of national press, and in 1963 the newly minted Preservation Hall Jazz Band began touring. They never stopped! They have played with everyone, and everywhere, from the Grateful Dead at the Filmore West, to the palace of the King of Thailand, who sat in on alto sax! Now they play the Sunrise Theatre.
